Community Shopping Event Supports Annual Cultural Celebration The Festival of Cultures is an annual community event that celebrates the area’s linguistic and cultural diversity. The day features family-friendly international music and dance performances, cultural exhibits, hands-on activities for kids, artisan crafts, plus delicious ethnic food for sale. The 2018 Festival will be held on Saturday, May 12 at Washington Park in Charlottesville. Go to: http://www.festivalofcultures.org/ Ten Thousand Villages, located on Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall, is a not for profit fair trade retailer that provides a market for hand-crafted products made by people in marginalized areas of the world. Currently Ten Thousand Villages works with more than 60,000 artisans. The Festival of Cultures is organized by the Thomas Jefferson Adult and Career Education at PVCC with the support of many other individuals and organizations that recognize the importance of building bridges between new Americans and established residents.
